Big Brand Ideas recently completed a successful rebranding and web development project for cryptocurrency brokerage, Beyond.

We’ve all heard the phrase ‘cryptocurrency’, but I suspect many of us still don’t fully understand what it is or where it comes from? Simply put, cryptocurrency is a digital or virtual currency that can be used as a medium of exchange. It first appeared in 2009 thanks to an anonymous programmer using the name of Satoshi Nakamoto.

The pre-eminent version is Bitcoin. Since its inception there have been many highs and lows, its most notable high coming in December 2017 when the price of a single Bitcoin reached $19,666. The price has since dropped, but nevertheless the currency still holds considerable value.

It has also seen a significant rise in popularity over the last five years. This is mainly due to the fact that Bitcoin is now a widely accepted form of payment, whereas in the past it was very much a niche market. Now you can buy a house or even a Lamborghini using the currency.

Looking to invest?

Bitcoin is now seen as a viable investment opportunity with many cryptocurrencies seeing huge increases in value over the past two years, some by as much as 2,700 per cent. There have been many stories of people becoming millionaires thanks to Bitcoin investments.

Although it’s an attractive investment opportunity, it is also seen as high risk. Market values fluctuate to extremes and there is still an issue of trust in the process.

BBI and Beyond

However, companies such as Beyond are working to reassure its customers and recently partnered with Big Brand Ideas to create a secure online investment platform for Bitcoin. The brief was to develop a brand identity and website that allows our target market of high net worth individuals with a broad investment portfolio to buy and sell Bitcoin securely as well as offering the best user experience possible. The first step was to go through a full brand positioning workshop which led to the creation of a framework, name and visual identity.

It was important to create a brand that inspired trust and expertise. The underlying message was why be satisfied with conventional financial products and their modest returns? Beyond can take you further, higher, deeper – guiding you into unexplored places.

Bitcoin is a non-traceable transaction and, in the past, has been linked to criminal activity, so it was imperative to build a brand and system that is secure and trustworthy. As a result, our development team implemented a two-stage verification process to protect the platform from fraudulent activity.

Anyone wishing to trade on the site must follow a strict sign-up process that includes uploading photo identification and registering a mobile device to receive a secure user code to ensure their account cannot be accessed by third parties.

Beyond want to demonstrate that cryptocurrency is a viable business opportunity and the long-term goal is to trade in multiple currencies, not just Bitcoin. Users will be able to select which currency they wish to invest in and be given a live exchange rate which allows them to complete the transaction.

Its philosophy is based on long-term investing and strong client relationships. Users can invest as little as they want or up to and over £100,000. Since its inception Beyond has gone from strength-to-strength conducting over a quarter of a million trades worth in excess of £5 million. Now, with an advanced digital platform, users can buy Bitcoin in a simple and effective way as well as access the site 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
